Another Canuck

#1

Post by Inkie »

Greetings, Earthlings. I am a retired serviceman, 70 years young, and I have been in and out of the hobby over my lifetime. a couple of decades back I had a hefty Celestron Ultima 11 on a fork mount. It was a beast, but I dutifully hauled it out into the wintery frost on the prairies. I always wanted a dream refractor because that was a first scope when in my teens, a modest Tasco . I finally have another modest make and model, but it's the 150 mm that I thought I'd never own. I love binoculars, stellare physics and evolution, cosmology, and viewing whatever is up there seasonally. Horsing a large scope into a vehicle is now beyond me (I'm not so motivated and physically adept as I was in the 1990's), so I also sprang for a NexDome which I will erect when it is delivered in a couple of months.

It's nice to return to the fold. I'm a grandpa, raised three wonderful girls with my amazing wife (who is a far better person than I), and still keep active when my heart isn't giving me fits (atrial fibrillation and flutter, but a second catheter ablation seems to have worked and I'm good for now). BTW, and I'll duck if I see any missiles coming at me, now that I have raised three girls to adulthood, I am no longer under any illusions as to the mystery of the distaff. They're regular folk, regular problems, and need love and respect as much as any of us do. :shhh:
