On a slow boat from China...

MY Dwarf II was originally going to be with me in February.

I heard mid-March that it had shipped, however the DHL Shipment tracking has shown nothing since then. In the end I went back to DwarfLabs to find out where said telescope was. Yep, its on a boat from China that will dock on the 14th April, and I should get tracking notoification shortly after that.

I understand the attraction of manufacturing in China, but vendors should be clear on the shipment methods and times involved. I'm not too fussed actually as I can wait, just slightly miffed, the skies are hardly accomodating this year.

I just never thought the phrase "On a slow boat from China" would apply to me in any way... :D

Looking forward to seeing some of your pics taken (eventually) with the D2. The price is quite tempting.

This looks like a great and simple setup. I'm really looking forward to hearing and seeing how well it works.

Hi Tony. I just checked this Dwarf II out on the DwarfLab website. This is a nice fully integrated and compact system and the deluxe version is available with even more goodies. I hope to see your images after it arrives to you and you set it up.

Very nice. I also had a slow boat from China refractor which showed up in January after a prediction of April 2023. Only one session so far (Jan. 29th) due to the stormy weather.

Hi All, I will get it active as soon as I can - if the skies are not compliant I may well post some other photo's (away from the Astro boards). Hopefully the weather will comply, but new scopes may not be the best way to ensure clear skies. :D

Man, the Dwarf II looks cool as heck!
I too am looking forward to seeing what you can do with it.
I am with you on the wait time though . I would be climbing the walls!
I just read on their website that they were only taking preorders with a ship date sometime in April.
Hang in there buddy! Won’t be much longer!long

Now with me - it is a cool product - quick vid of local birds elsewhere. Getting ready for trip to Sorrento Italy so a bit rushed.

Glad to hear it arrived Tony, best wishes on the trip and good luck with the new toy! Are you taking it with you?

All the best,

Yep, hand baggage for me :) I hope to get up early tomorrow and do some work on the sun - if the weather forcast is true. It comes with 2 X 1.25 sunfilters that screw into the magnetic holder.

Set up for Solar work tomorrow - IPhone for scale. Charges using a C-USB cable to any 5v charger (cable not supplied - bit of an oversight I think). I await the UHC filter, missed in error (not an issue really as I'm not short of filters).

All I now need is a nice dawn...
