At least they presented the solution to the problem, we just have to put our telescopes in orbit! Thank goodness for that brilliant idea.

Starlink took us from 2K satellites to 1.7K more now, eventually 40K more as planned. Then there are about 10 governments and companies wanting to do the same, so count on 400K in the long run. Some of them will be really big and shiny unlike the modest Starlink ones.

By that time, it may not matter anymore because the sky will be obscured by aerosols to counter global warming. Hard to see how that can be avoided the way things are going.

Amazon recently announced plans to launch their own network in competition with Starlink. Yay!!! Now Bezos wants to pollute the skies! IMHO, enough is enough.

Apparently, there is no regulation and/or indifference ($$).
Pixel rejection in astro image software does a great job at cleaning the trails up, but there is only so much it can do.
On the visual side, it looks like one day our night sky will be filled with moving stars. Sad.

At least Star Link makes an effort to minimize, I doubt Amazon will. I remember laughing my backside off when I saw the rocket that launched Bezos. Anyone who designed that obviously doesn't have a clue, I shall stop here for I will quickly digress.

I agree. I am not a Star Link fan for obvious reasons. However, I will probably subscribe to the service when it becomes mainstream!
