First time out in 2023

:observatory:

I was finally able to have a free evening to open the dome for the new year. I only had a couple of hours before clouds set in, but I knew that would happen. I wasn't hoping for much. I was able to clean up the warm room and observatory and get things set up and checked out after an absence of nearly two months. My landlord stopped by to say, "Hi". The past several nights have been clear and he was expecting me to show up soon. I built a small campfire for the evening. Since I knew a bank of clouds was on its way my main project was to set up the cameras and capture some night lapse videos, star trails, and nightscapes. Cloudy nights make for good night videos.

Hi Rob. Wow, that is a beautiful panorama nightscape image from you. A well framed capture of the sky and your SkyShed XL3 observatory. This is a great way to finally start this New Year off nicely. Thanks for your fine report Rob and the best of wishes for many clear night skies.

Good for you! Sounds like it's been awhile. Of course, the weather wasn't all that helpful the past few months.
