ZTF from Feb 9

Post by sdbodin »

Working thru my backlog, a few days late, the best comet 2022(E3)ZTF I have got. Still not much of a noteworthy comet, but better than the nothing burger I dub it earlier, still a veggie burger. Took only 20 minutes, a bit short to see much tail, but the ion one seems forked, but faint, the dust one just plain faint. And, maybe a bit on the green side but not by much.
ZTF_9feb_135f2final.jpg
Specifics; Rokinon 135mm f2 telephoto at f2.0, 20/1 min exposures thru ASI1600MC-cool OSC w/IR filter, comet moved too much to use longer subs. Stacked on comet with stars deleted and applied to one central frame with stars included in PS CS5. Posted image 50% crop and 50% of full size.

Clear skies,
Steve
Scopes; Meade 16 LX200, AT80LE, plus bunch just sitting around gathering dust
Cameras; Atik 460ex mono, Zwo ASI1600MC-cool, QHY5L-II color and mono

Hello Steve. You came away with a very nice image of Comet C/2022 E3. The comet tail and head details are good and have that nice celery green color. Thanks for sharing this capture with us Steve and the best of wishes for many clear skies.
