Large prominence on the sun today. The pale blue dot is earth for scale.

very nice catch ,indeed, this solar prominence is very long and wide.

Thanks for posting. The picture is fascinating. The earth scaling the picture adds a lot to understanding what we are looking at.

Hi Gordon. A superb lunar prominence image from you using your ES80ed telescope. That prominence is really taking off and the Earth comparison shows the perspective of it's large size. Thanks for sharing this fine capture with us on here Gordon and the best of wishes for many clear skies.
