Third cut at a subset of the comet data from Friday 1-27-23. This image is from about twenty 120 second exposures taken about 2:00. Taken with a William Optics GT71 scope, ASI294MC Pro camera and iOptron HEM 27 mount. Processed and stacked with Pixinsight,
GIMP, Apple, and Windows Edit.
The odd shape of the core is unexpected. Not sure if this is real, or an oddity due to reflections or processing.

I think the motion of the comet is at the nucleus and the odd shape is caused by the comet itself. When I viewed (ZTF) last night it was moving very quickly against the background stars. You may want to try a stack that holds the comet stationary to see if it makes a difference.

Hi Ed. A very nice image of Comet C/2022 E3 using your GT71 telescope. Very good contrast and well framed. This was nice to view on here so thanks for sharing this capture with us Ed.
