Detected c2022 comet near polaris! 7x50 binoculars bortle 7-8
I actually managed to see it in averted vision. VERY very dim faint and fuzzy. but it was detectable at least somewhat reliably. once I managed to locate it. amongst the very dim stars.
Somewhat down to the left of CO Camelopardalis star.

It was surprisingly extended for a comet object. didnt really see much of a star in it. it was a lot more fuzzy and a little larger than I expected it to be in size.

almost a half moon. and not even fully dark outside yet. plus some hazyness and clouds in the sky too. Weird how I end up spotting things like this in poor condition. yet when the conditions are perfect I'm not able to find anything interesting?

heres a short 4 minute exposure stack of 5second exposure images of the comet

Nice report realflow. Congrats on producing a great report on the comet and on nabbing the VROD for the day. We'll probably be getting more comet reports in the next few days as it approaches earth and is at its brightest.

I'm so surprised I managed to spot it considering the insane light pollution where im at! And with clouds too! its bigger than I thought it would be I was looking for something star-like. but this comet is more of a fuzzy patch.
bummer it will be completely clouded over and unsuitable for any astronomy stuff for the next WEEK for me! Clouds and thunderstorms.

Hi RF. A very nice observing session report with your binoculars of The Comet C2022. And your poor sky conditions didn't help any either. Thanks for a great report RF and congratulations on receiving the TSS VROD Award today.

Got a chance to observe the comet again. This time spotted with binoculars as well as telescope! No clouds tonight! although there is a full moon I still caught it.
It was actually almost easy to see with my small 70mm F6 ED telescope! I spotted it by accident while setting up the telescope to star hop to it. managed to get it in the view of view by accident. I saw it sweep right into the view. though very dim at first. almost missed it that time. would of taken 5 or so minutes to find it the normal starhop way if I didn't catch it then

its decently distinct with averted vision. has a sharp but dim central "star" core in it. and its almost visible with direct vision. Looks like a fuzzy smudge with averted vision. somewhat in the shape of a comet. but very dim
Im surprised how quickly I spotted it. it was almost easy to spot.
Even with the full moon it wasnt too difficult.
Using 15mm eyepiece. it looked decent but I added my 2x barlow and it grew bigger in size. looked pretty decent too.
Definitely not any "green" visible at all though. its just a greyscale smudge
Atmosphere pretty calm tonight too!
