This is my take on the Heart Nebula, IC 1805 located in the constellation Cassiopeia, and first serious data acquisition using my new ZWO ASI 2600MC Pro OSC dedicated astronomy camera. This image consists of 175 photos @ 120 second exposure, just under 6 hours of data collection. Collected using Astro Photography Tool (APT), William Optics GT81 APO Triplet refractor telescope, William Optics .8x reducer giving a focal length of 384mm, 2” Optolong L-eXtreme filter. The image acquisition was guided using PHD2 and Skywatcher HEQ5 Pro mount. Data acquired 2023 January 2nd and 3rd from my backyard observatory in Boise Idaho under bortle 6 skies.
I took the liberty of processing this for a Hubble style palette look. The image was stacked and processed primarily using PixInsight with the exception of GraXpert for background neutralization and Topaz Studio2 for text photo information.

I am loving the new laptop. Processing speeds using PixInsight are noticeably faster.
However, one downer is I am not able to run my imaging sessions from inside my home as I was able to with the older laptop. I have no “live view” using APT and it will not take photos. Everything else connects and works normally. When connecting I keep getting and error telling me; “To many USB hubs are connected. A USB hub will not function when it is connected to more than 5 hubs away from the root port.”
It does work when I connect the laptop directly in my observatory.
With my old lap top I got the same message but it always worked anyway.
I run about a 40’ USB from my pier to inside my home with booster hubs along the way.
I’m now thinking about going with a Wi-Fi type of setup. Maybe the ASIAIR PLUS or something equivalent.

Hey, just an idea that I am sure that you already tried or though of.
I image with an old (8-9 years) laptop at the scope outside. I am about 30' from my router and use Teamviewer to run the session from my inside desktop and ipad at the couch. I can run multiple devices (and make changes/view the session) from anywhere in case I need to run out. Don't know if you might be too far away from your router, but it surely would be easy to check.
I've been using Teamviewer for about 4 years now with no issues (free version).

Hi Kerry,
Assuming that you can connect to your wireless network from your imaging laptop, in addition to Teamviewer, there is also Anydesk and Windows Remote Desktop among others that allow remote access.
I have nothing but good to say about Teamviewer, but other folks prefer to use Windows Remote Desktop. I cannot use RD because it is not available in Windows 10 Home version.

Beautiful image Kerry. If you are just learning PixInsight that is amazing. Looks like an image from a very experienced PI user! Well done!!

Steve, thank you.
I started using PixInsight about a year ago. Actually, you were the one that taught me how to setup and retrieve my process icons and add a description of what they do…thanks again.
I do have a fairly consistent workflow now.
