Sunspots Boxing Day

Boxing Day yielded a great opportunity to photograph the Sun. Unfortunately, my back was bad, so I could not use my Maksutov. Instead, I scanned the solar disc with my binoculars and caught three sunspots.

Hi Philip. A nice sketch on the flickr site based on your observing with just your binoculars. It looks like you caught active regions AR3171, AR3173, and AR3174. Thanks for sharing your latest artwork with us Philip and keep looking up.
