Tasco And Celestron -- Will It Work?

Has anyone ever tried pugging a Tasco HC into a Celestron Alt-Az goto mount like the GT, SLT, LCM, or CPC (BTW the HC for these mounts is interchangeable)? I ask because these used Tasco HCs are far cheaper than the used Celestron HCs by a factor of 2.

Here's a pic of the Celestron HC

To me, this might work as a second HC should your primary ever fail.

From the NexStar site: Under the Hand Control Compatibility

"NexStar GT Hand Control - this hand control has been sold with several different versions of firmware (see the Firmware Versions section of this website for more info). This hand control is only compatible with the NexStar GT, Celestron StarSeeker, and Tasco StarGuide telescopes (any model of optical tube). At one time, this hand control was offered for sale separately as Celestron part number 93961. Note that the NexStar Version 4 hand control (above) can also be used with the NexStar GT mount. The Tasco StarGuide hand control is basically the same version."

So in a nutshell, since the Tasco HC is an older version HC it may or may not work in your Celestron Alt-Az mount.
