Arp 68

Arp 68 is part of Arp’s, ‘Spiral galaxies with small, high surface brightness companions on arms’ class. NGC 7756 (NGC 7757, UGC 12788, VV 407, PGC 72491 and others) is the larger spiral galaxy located approximately 52 million light-years away. Estimates just a few years before were upwards for 130 million light-years.

USNO-A2.0 0900-20497356 (the only designation I could find) appears to be the companion.

Luminance – 25x600s – 250 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

370 minutes total exposure – 6 hours 10 minutes

Imaged September 27th and 28th and October 2nd and 17th, 2022 from Dark Sky New Mexico at Rancho Hidalgo (Animas, New Mexico) with a SBIG STF-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT12RCT at f/8 2432mm.
