.
Ok, There's more,
Also, they need to be for Visual now and AP later.
So I'm looking for a few of those narrow bands? Are they any good for Visual?
I'm trying to avoid the tourist colors... or is there such a thing... ?
I wonder about some of the filter packages... Good Stuff or Just Fluff ?
( I'm NOT looking for the suitcase )
.
Maybe you guys can post a link or two... Don't get Toooo tech on me...
.
Gotta Fly...
.
PS Just threw one of these in my cart...
one things for sure , it's compatible and it will help visual and AP
(Any feedback on these ? )

The GPS module is actually a bit useless. $200USD to save 30 seconds on setup. It only loads time and co-ordinates, your mount will retain this information anyways between sessions. If you have not moved locations then next setup will only require you to update time/ date.
You can get the same information from off of your cell phone.
It will not make your alignment or goto any more accurate than inputting the information yourself.

Filters for visual perhaps a variable polorizer to start.

Ok , The star shooter was on my list... But,

It locks stars after I tell it where... after I find the target.
.
Doesn't this $450 job help FIND the target and lock on ?
.
I guess I need a trip to Utube... ( That has been a GREAT source , besides you guys )

I think you need to be a bit more specific in what is happening for us to help.
Steps you are performing up to it not working.

No... Haven't bought yet...
.
Still searching the options for Visual first...for Newtonian and yet to arrive, a Refractor
,
Then slide in to take a picture after I find something, and repeat.

I thought since the stuff is still Celestron , it would be compatible and hook up.

But I'd like it to be useful in my F range...

I'm guessing High F takes a good locking camera...I should be in the lower range ?
.
So I'm still , "Almost a Beginner"
.
.
While your here...
Anything wrong with running a USB cable about 100-200 ft ? ( past some trees ?)
Or would there be some sort of "Lag Time" ?

I would recommend learning how to set up yourself before adding all of the electronic extras.
When you read beginner postings about issues they usually have every gadget on their mounts and do not understand what the issue is or what is causing it.

As far as I know you can only run a unpowered USB cable 5 metres? That number seems to stick in my mind.
After that you need to use powered hubs.

I bought the Wifi for it.
.
Yes , I'm locking down on Visual .
.
I haven't bought any camera stuff , I have to learn the mount.
.
This Starsense Alien should get me on targets right away....
.
Then I have exploring before pictures.
.
A lot of this research is to be sure about compatibility later...
.
With the Wifi... I'll only need extension cords...I've got some heavy 12 ga
.

you can almost get by with just punching in your lat and long and doing a 1 star alighnment , i don't see any use with those addon gadgets with helping you setup and finding targets, it might be suitable for someone who hopelessly does not know they sky, travels alot ie northern/southern hemisphere, and or has no computer/phone . $459 is very steep for a star alighnment , i assure you after spending 30 min in the dark, you'll find out a name of a star and it's location so you can use it to align your mount . use the $459 for some nice eyepieces instead .

You may want to search for iPolar vs Polemaster. I saw the iPolar in action once and was kind of blown away with how quick and easy it was, like some other users are too. For instance, https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/6768 ... on-ipolar/ or https://opticsidea.com/ipolar-vs-polemaster/ .

BTW If you went the computer-based approach that I was recommending elsewhere you would not need either one, your imaging camera will do polar alignment and goto alignment by plate solving for instance when using Ekos. FYI.
