Drizzling will definitely put a load on the system. If you have a lot of data, it will take a huge amount of time to process (each process) because of the large file size.
I am processing M31 right now and might just forego drizzling. Can't beat the stars though!
In addition to lots more time and huge file sizes, the dynamic range seems to be noticeably less on the drizzled image (comparing autostretched versions of each masterlight). I thought that I would always drizzle, but I now have decided to pick and choose.
