But thought I would post here and 'maybe' someone might have additional insight.
Let me start by saying I have been using a Rigel focusers for many years on a couple of different scopes without issues.
Using the 2 button box with wifi support, although I almost never use the wifi.
Recently I had to re-furbish a laptop with windows 10 to run Sequence Generator Pro, Celestron CPWI scope control, and of course the N step focuser.
Since I refurbished the laptop have been having some weird issues. At first the autofocus seems to run fine, then the stepper motor just keeps running out, it keeps running out until the physical and software limits are reached and it keeps on going. Also noted that if I press one of the buttons on the box it stops for a few moments, then continues running out.
Another symptom is that the laptop keeps scrolling the cursor downwards. Move the cursor to the ‘top’ of something and it scrolls quickly back down to the bottom.
I will be frank, I don’t know if this is a hardware issue with the laptop or something with the Nstep software or my install.
Speaking of software I am unsure as to which package I should be using. It is an older model without a rotator, but I just grabbed the ‘latest’ version of the software (GCUSB_Rotator_1_Setup_1.0.10.exe). Since there are so many to choose from I ‘may’ have grabbed the wrong version. Not really sure about backwards compatibility.
Have tried just about everything on the laptop, even disabling all the pointing devices (touch screen and mouse pad). Making sure that autoscroll is disabled. Etc. Nothing seems to stop the ‘ghost’ from scrolling it down?
Pretty much grasping at straws now and though maybe I would reach out and see if you have ever come across this behavior and hopefully have a remedy!
Thanks in advance for your support! Like I said been using these systems for many years with lots of success. Now this baffling and frustrating issue arises.
