As the title implies this scope is for sale near me for $65 if it checks out is it worth it it looks in good condition from the images.
I can see that the focuser looks cheap but I was thinking about the mirror’s
Forget that when I saw toys r us when I looked at the manual on line 😂🙄

Well, Frank you already got two reflectors in your stable, what purpose this one would serve? :)

I would rather invest that $65 into another EP, or save toward a better quality scope.

I can't find any specs on this scope. So here's my best guess, It is very inexpensive which usually means it has a spherical mirror. They are much cheaper to produce than a parabolic mirror. The spherical mirror will need a corrector lens to mitigate the aberrations caused by the mirror. That lens is placed in the focuser tube which makes this scope a design called the Jones-Bird design. Most of us stay away from this design because A) the FLs are usually quite long and it is not easy to collimate this optical system.

My recommendation is to pass this one up. You deserve better.

Yes in my haste I posted this then when I went on line and found the manual and the toys are us logo that was all it took !
Bigzmey I see a bunch of Celestron refractors but they all look like toys so I haven’t snagged one yet and I’m always on the look out for a deal !😁
P.S. I think you are right though I should get a refractor just for the different experience .
