I am looking to use my ASI533MC as a planetary camera on my Celestron SE6. My concern is backfocus, with small camera's (ASI224MC & SvBony290) I just stuck the camera on and focussed. With the Pro version will this work in the same way? Looking at my pixel size I should be able to use a 2x Barlow for planets etc. I'll plonk a UV/IR cut on the camera, but what will be the right distance and do I measure from the back flange?

Move from one setup to another and the fun stars over all again :Astronomer1:.
Cheers,

Tony.

the spec page for the asi533 list 17.5mm back focus but i'm pretty sure that is including the 11mm ring, it should be 6.5mm like the rest if you take the supplied female m42 extention off which is 11mm thick .

i don't think you'll have problems with reaching focus due to the versatility of the camera and sct , if you compaired it to one of your smaller cameras (asi 224mc), you need to travel in 5 mm , but subjected to change due to the barlow .

Thanks - that all sounds encouraging to me, no I need the clouds to go away.
Cheers,

Tony.
