hi ,
can you explain that to me ,
The 80mmaperture gathers about 63% more light than an 80mm refractor and the brighter image shows more detail.
a typo error .
thx .

thx .aperture is 102mm. I have the same optical train from a different vendor and it's terrific!
the 80mm is said to pick up more light than an 80mm.
surely a typographical error.

Whoopsie! I am bad at typos. I see what is intended rather than what is there. Sorry.messier 111 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 12:10 amyes I understand, but in the description.notFritzArgelander wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 8:27 pmThemessier 111 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 25, 2022 8:08 pm hi ,

Re: Starwave 102mm F11 ED refractor in stock
Hi to answer some Q's, firstly, sorry about that typo - now fixed.
Yes, we've been selling this scope since late 2016. There are 3 versions. This is v3 ED. Each time we improved the optics/mechanics slightly and pushed our contractors harder each time for each release.
There's a mega thread on CN about the ED version and many about the achromat version v1 and v2. Please delete if not allowed as I can't find reference to rules about whether one can post links to other forums here: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/6461 ... 11-yes-ed/
I've been using my Achromat v1 for many years for lunar planetary and solar in particular. Visually it's a real crowd pleaser day or night, and being F11, I've been reliably informed that it looks like a "proper telescope"
