In this case, yes.

Sat in on a talk last year. Part of it was about the next Carrington level event and how we can detect CMEs at the sun but then loose track of them until they pass satellites about 15 minutes from earth if we are going to be hit. Giving us those 15 minutes to take actions to prevent a return to the 18th century. These new sats will help but we really need to step up our tracking abilities. One suggestion was to monitor quazars (IIRC) as they twinkle as the CME moves past.
