IC1805 8 Panel Mosaic

Below is a 8 panel mosaic of IC1805 (Heart Nebula) in Ha. Each panel consists of 6-240 second images with the ASI183P Camera Optolong Ha filter ina SW 8" Quattro with Coma corrector. Guided by a Starfield 60mm Refractor with a ASI120MM Mini. The gear is sitting on a DIY hypertuned CGEM.

All processing was done in PixInSIght. This time around I switched tools to stretch the data to "Masked Stretch". This seems to help with the overlap areas. I will add SII and Oiii when the moon co-operates and my even add data to the sides I missed now that I have the Mosaic schedule planner figured out in STellarMate. I was quiet shocked at how well the Plate solving worked in the SM Sceduler. Once I told it to start, I walked away and came back at the end, so I didn't adjust anything on the fly.

That is a very nice result, Brent. Looking forward to seeing the added data when you get the chance to collect it.

The range of tools that are available for mosaic planning and execution seems to be very rich. It make collecting the panels relatively automatic and lets us concentrate more on how to put them all together!

You're off to a great start with this!
I do see an odd pattern in the upper right panel. Kind of a checkered pattern. I've seen it before, but I can't remember what causes it...

Your correct Larry. That is what you get when you start shooting BEFORE it is dark. I was also shooting with a Moon illumination of 80-85%. Only saving grace was I was shooting 180 degrees opposite the Moon.

I did something with this one that I had got lazy (forgot) to do, I deconvoluted the stars. Lowering the "StdDev" slider from 2 to 1.5 sure makes a difference.
