SpaceX Falcon 9 launch of Korean Lunar Orbiter Thursday evening
Hi all. A nice sunny evening here and I caught four shots of the SpaceX launch at 7:08 pm EDST from my backyard. See below:
The South Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) mission launched at 7:08 p.m. EDT on Thursday, Aug. 4 (2308 GMT) from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base in coastal Florida. The spacecraft's journey to the moon is expected to take four and a half months. The Falcon 9 rocket’s reusable first stage will aim for a landing atop a drone ship in the nearby Atlantic Ocean.
Thanks for looking and I hope that you enjoy them.

Terrific photos, Marshall!
I really like that second one, with the rocket and contrail coming out of the cloud.
Thanks very much for sharing!

Re: SpaceX Falcon 9 launch of Korean Lunar Orbiter Thursday evening
I watched part of it. It struck me as a bit remarkable in the matter-of-fact way it was covered as a private company launching a spacecraft to the moon was no big deal.
Any metaphor will tear if stretched over too much reality.
