Hadley Rille (Jan 21)
Hi,
I've been browsing the sketches, and sometimes I get out the graphite and pencils, so thought that I would share a lunar sketch from a while ago.
Sketched from Mewlon 180, with 7mm Nagler (306x) on an excellent night of seeing. Hadley Rille was "blinking" in and out, as it is getting close to the resolution limit, and absolutely on the limit of my observing skills. I think that my representation of the rille may be equally challenging to observe as it is just way to hard to sharpen and draw light enough
The sketch is with pulverised white soft pastel, a white grahite pencil, and carbon pencil (to create hard edges and contrast), on a slightly rough black paper. Being a photo image of a sketch I feel it is a little "flat."
Cheers, Phil

Hello Phil. A very nice lunar sketch of the Hadley Rille region in Mare Imbrium. And you also included Craters Aristillus and Autolycus too. Thanks for sharing your excellent observing and art talent with us on here Phil and keep up the great work.

Very nice lunar sketch.
There are too few moon sketches passing by on this forum, to my taste. So keep up the good work!
