I'm with Johnny, that is kinda scary! I consider myself a bit of a solar-head, and as such I've tried to learn as much about our star as my mind can handle, which really isn't a lot, but I have learned that our star is somewhat of an angry beast at times...

Ten times more powerful than the Carrington event?! If that happened now we'd be back to medieval ages in a matter of days. I very well remember the geomagnetic storm in 1989 that took out the James Bay power grid; I was still living in Montreal at the time. We didn't get power back for five days on the West Island, and there was A) the darkest skies I've ever witnessed and B) a lot of crime/emergencies going on. The sirens literally didn't stop.

And that was minor in the grand scheme of things solar. Here's hoping Solar Cycle 25 is somewhat tame!!

Thanks for the info nFA, though again, I'm hoping that the event that happened 1267 years ago is a one off!
