Barnard 59

Barnard 59 (LDN 1746) is a large dark nebula located approximately 587 light-years away in Ophiuchus. At -27
Dec, this one is just above Scorpius.
Luminance – 18x600s – 180 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2
300 minutes total exposure – 5 hours
Imaged on June 28th and 29th, 2022 at the Danville Conservation Area (New Florence, Missouri) with a SBIG ST-8300M on an Astro-Tech AT90EDT at
f/6.7 603mm.

Hi Dan. A splendid Barnard 59 dark nebula image on the flickr site with the Astro-Tech AT90ED. Well framed and lots of nice crisp details. As for a name, how about "Dark Spider Nebula"? Thanks for sharing this capture taken at the Danville Conservation Area with us Dan, and keep your great work coming on here.
