Generally, I don't like heavy EPs. However, since I have installed showcase in my home office to store and display my scopes I wanted to add a heaviest and largest EP I can get my hands on as a conversation piece. You know, that's not a knife, this is a knife!
I did not want to spend crazy money on something which is mostly for display, but on the other hand I wanted to get a good quality EP which would perform well in my scopes.
I had good experience with now out of production Meade 5000 UWA (82 deg) and SWA (68 deg) lines. In my scopes they performed as well as ES 82s and 68s. So, I decided to pick either 30mm UWA or 40mm SWA. I was contemplating which looks cooler and will potentially get more use, and then both came for sale from the same member. I felt that the Universe giving me a sign to have both!
Behold! In one corner 40mm SWA weighing 1.3 kg (2.8 lb) in the other - 30mm UWA weighing 1.4 kg (3.0 lb), and in the middle your typical 32mm Plossl (0.12 kg/0.26 lb). Now that I have them I want to take them for a spin. Need a separate EP case just for the two.

Yes, that EP is elephantine, but it does fall under the category of "crazy money."
Yeah, my 32mm plossl will do me!
(PS: I do have an ES 100°20mm eyepiece, which weighs only (!) 968 gms, but I rarely use it. I decided that I prefer the mid-range wide-angle eyepieces, like the Panoptics. Plus there is always a balance issue with the big fella, and it does look a bit excessive on my TV76: I am not quite sure which end to look through when it is in the focuser! I will probably off-load it one day, like I did with a 13mm Ethos (which btw only weighs 590 gms). I find I prefer the 13mm Nagler T6 (181 gms!). )

Hi Andrey. That is a very nice set of eyepieces. Here is my "bomb" and weighs in at 1lb 5oz. It is a University Optics 2" 20mm 80° eyepiece shown next to a 1.25" 20mm Plossl. It is so heavy that I have a small cross made of tape on the side of my 12" dob to mark where the large magnet inside of a cloth bag goes to balance the telescope so it doesn't nose dive on me.

Siebert does make some nice eyepieces.

I once got a 24 mm eyepiece at the RTMC that looked like that, I think it was a Lumicon variable height eye cup. Something like https://www.bing.com/images/search?view ... ajaxserp=0. While the quality seemed good, my nose hit the rim every time. I had to tilt my head to keep it from happening. It got so annoying that eventually I took the entire outside enclosure off it. Now it looks like a normal eyepiece just with a sharp rim, but it works much better. I can't tell if these eyepieces would have similar problems, I hope they work for you.
