M92 Widefield

The marine layer cleared finally giving me a couple of clear nights to work with the new camera. With the moon out, I decided to revisit M92. Poor M92 seems to often get overshadowed by M13, but it's a really pretty glob and may be one of the oldest in the Milky Way.

I went back and forth on how bright I wanted the core. Settled on this version for now. I also was able to pick up a nice collection of smaller galaxies toward the bottom of the frame.

All subs shot a zero gain for 60 seconds. 100 Lum and 40 each RGB.

I really like the framing. The stars are perfect with really nice color. M92 is nicely resolved. The background is very smooth and dark, but not too dark. Nicely done sir!

Thanks, Jim. I do struggle trying to get the sky background just right. I probably should be more systematic and actually measure it so I have a target value when I'm stretching. I do want to keep working on the stars in the glob. Not up to KathyNS specs yet which is my North star.
