It's really unclear as to how well the evolution of these satellite mega constellations has been modeled and how well the risks are understood.

Well, with 1,900 Starlink satellites already launched and more on the way, I can see the large potential for some space traffic jams in the future. Thanks for finding and sharing this interesting link with us Stephen and keep up the great space news reporting.

Hey...ISS needs to move for Russian debris, CSS needs to move because of commercial U.S. operations...live with it. Given the universal utility of Starlink vs the unilateral utility of CSS I would say no reason to complain as at least one of them is serving the needs of the many.

Starlink costs $500 to join, then $100 per month. I think it mainly will only serve the rich. Personally, I hope Starlink and their like go bankrupt, and soon.

I cannot see how anyone with an active interest in astronomical observing could support the activities of Starlink in any form. It's like cheering for a new streetlight in your back yard, imo.
