Anyone know where to buy a 6 inch dob?

#1

Post by Shelby »

I am on a quest to purchase a 6 inch dobsonian telescope. However, it seems that they are all sold out everywhere I look right now. The one I am most interested in is the Skywatcher 6" Classic. Does anyone know where I can buy it at? I was wanting to purchase one in the next week or so, but it seems they are out of stock right now.
My scopes: Sky-Watcher 150p (6") Classic Dobsonian (main scope), iOptron SmartStar N114 with GPS (not really used anymore)

My eyepieces: 25mm Skywatcher Plossl, 10mm Skywatcher Plossl, 25mm unknown brand, 9mm iOptron Kellner.

Filters: AstroZap Baadar Solar Film Filter for my SkyWatcher 6 inch, 6" OD Seymour Solar film filter for the N114

Camera: My smartphone

Its quite crazy that there is such a shortage , this pandemic is madness , here in RSA one cant get anything now and the few shops we had have either closed or selling things like tools? just to survive , we cant really get anything from other countries as the post office is no good and using private couriers is way too expensive and they dont guarantee delivery ! What a change in 2 years , just shows how all countries rely on ONE for the techno stuff!

I've ordered several items from FLO in the UK, and have been very happy with the speed of delivery via DHL. I've not ordered a scope though.

You might also want to check Canadian suppliers like Khan Scope Center.

You should have lousy weather for at least a week now. That's just The Curse that comes packed with all new gear.

Never underestimate the look ahead powers of the cloud demons. They KNOW what you were going to do even before you did. So the bad weather was a "precurser". :duck: :animals-dogrun:
