I have been talking for a couple of months about Maksutov-Cassegrains and how they compare to other types of catadioptric telescopes. I guess my family heard the massage and got me a Christmas present - SkyWatcher Skymax 180mm Mak! Since it is impossible to get one new (for a reasonable price) now days it was purchased used and needed to be inspected and checked upon arrival. So, Christmas came earlier to me this year. Happy to report that the Mak came in like new shape and produces nice sharp daytime views. Here is my Cat family holiday pics.

Hi Andrey. Congratulations on the new cat telescope. And I already know that you love them in the same way that I do. They are lunar/planetary killers for their size. Thanks for your new equipment report Andrey and keep that amazing 6" f/5 refractor around too for wide field DSO viewing.

Don't warry Marshall my old trusty 150ST is not going anywhere. Any time I am hunting DSOs in the desert it always rides side by side with 9.25" Edge.
