SKyTee-2 mechanics?

#1

Post by pakarinen »

Didn't find pics, so -

Does the counterweight bar unscrew completely from the ST-2?

Is there a safety washer at the end of the counterweight rod that unscrews or do you need to unscrew the rod itself to put CWs on?

Thanks!

According to this article https://www.cloudynights.com/articles/c ... view-r3309
there is an 'end stop' at the end of the counterweight bar. From appearances, it looks like a threaded stop bolt.

I've never seen a counterweight bar that had a "toe-saver" on it that didn't unscrew. It would be extremely dangerous to have to remove the entire bar to add or remove counter-weights.

Yes on both. There is a thumbscrew on the end of the rod for safety. The rod can go two places: on the opposite side from the main scope in single scope setup, or below saddle #3 for three-scopes setup. This is a great manual mount! :)
