Epic idea discovered. use a lighter to create black carbon flocking!

Its extremely effective when applied to the inner surface of eyepiece 1.25" barrel part (the part where you would thread a filter onto)
Even for the 1.25" barrel of my diagonal. it makes such a big difference! instant dramatic improvement. Now at a distance from the eyepiece everything outside the exit pupil is almost perfectly pitch black like a void! even when pointing the scope against the bright daytime sky! No more shinyness or reflections! at night its a big boost in contrast too. definitely noticable. really helps in dark adaptation too I think!
Just make sure you don't do it to anything flammable. check a small area first. make sure its metal and not plastic.
and never ever touch the inner parts with your fingers (You may have to reapply if you attach filters regularly. due to the coating getting scraped off)
if there was a way to seal the coating on permanently without affecting its appearance it'd be EPIC for flocking small parts!
I used a long/extension bbq type lighter.
make sure to of course unthread the barrel from the eyepiece/diagonal/thing its attached to. detach it. (I'm sure it could work for 2" or so too) and dont touch it with your bare fingers cause it will get super hot. place it on a heat resistance surface and use oven mitts or heat resistant gloves while handling.
and wait for it to cool down before putting it back on.
