I assume you mean the brighter star towards the center? How often does it fade in and out?

Yep, the big boy a little above center. Somewhere around a 400 day period. It's a Mira (o Ceti) type variable, drops down to mv=+14 or so, so it should almost vanish.
I should probably check the light curve on the AAVSO site to see the next predicted minimum.
