Meteor sighting over Southampton Docks, UK
I have just come across this news item on the BBC News website.
A Meteor was apparently videoed on Sunday at around 22:45 BST as it crossed the sky, and is believed to have been heading in the direction of Morgat, Brittany.
I did an Internet search about it and several different sources reported the sighting, so it appears to be genuine.

Hi Vanessa. While meteors have predictable shower dates, you may catch one on any clear night. Thanks for your meteor report Vanessa, and the very best of regards.

Re: Meteor sighting over Southampton Docks, UK
I have never actually seen a meteor shower in real life, but I imagine it would be quite a sight to behold.
