A little pre-dawn observing 9.5.2021

After some gawd-awful physical therapy to reset my inner ear, my sense of balance is back to normal, so I took my 80mm frac out about 0300 today.
Orion was still low over some houses to the SE, so I spent some time breathing in the Pleiades, Hyades, and Alpha Per association at 16X to 27X. I'm thinking I should spend an hour or two on just one of those clusters alone to give it justice.
Slewed over to M34 and then to Auriga to catch the M's over there. I always start with M36 since M37 and M38 can be challenging at home. M37 was reasonably visible, but M38 was tough today. It was there, but definitely fell into the "faint fuzzies' category. Quite a difference from my club's dark site where those clusters are all in your face using 15x70 binos.
By then, Orion was better placed, so I moved over to have a look at open cluster Cr69 at the head of Orion. Finished up with some time on M42 with my Astronomik filter. M43 was obvious today. And just FYI, Betelgeuse has yet to go supernova. Maybe tonight.
Shut down at 0500 'with astro twilight starting and Sirius well above the neighbor's roof.
