My feedback as a new user:

Approval for every post/topic is a little too much. While I can understand topic approval, I think post approval is too stringent and may discourage people from posting here. I would suggest considering removing the post approval requirement so that posts are more plentiful here.

The 5 moderated posting rule is there to help discourage spammers.
It helps the mod team stop them before they get to the open forums.

I see. I did not know that the first five posts of new members required approval.

How can this be made clear to new members so that this is understood at sign-up?

The moderator team can look into it and see if it needs to be emphasized.
