Parfocal surprises

No idea how common this is, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover my budget 12mm Agena StarGuider eyepiece is parfocal with my fancy 5mm Meade MWA 100 degree ep. Are there other such happy coincidences?

I mention this because I recently bought a 14mm/82 degree Meade and was thinking of selling the 12mm StarGuider, only to learn the Meades are not parfocal. They are from a different era and OEM manufacturer, but I somehow hoped they would match.
Parfocal eyepieces.

It has happened to me to. Some of my Orthos and Plossls are parfocal to wide fields.
