TSS created this sub forum for members to discuss and post images they have taken using a remote imaging location.

As time goes on we will be moving posts and images from other sub forums to this location if it's applicable.

Hope everyone enjoys this new sub forum, and a big thanks to member Ben Cartwright SASS (Jeff) for suggesting it!!!

Thank you very much Gordon and the rest of the board for creating this thread.

I documented my research in remote scopes, that still do, before settling on SLOOH as my main remote imaging subscription observatory.

I documented in the the Remote Telescope/Observatory thread viewtopic.php?f=115&t=16586

I am happy to answer questions on what I have found and I know Tom would be too.

Elementary question: Will SLOOH gave you an error if you schedule a mission:

- below the horizon?
- during astro or other twilight?

they will not allow missions to be scheduled during astro twilight, monring or night.

For the horizon they have a spreadsheet that shows the hard and soft horizons so you have a good idea BUT when you do go to schedule a mission below the hard horizon, dome edges hills etc it won't let you, gives a warning "below hard horizon". The soft horizon will generate a message that you are below the soft horizon and that "may affect image quality" but the will allow you to schedule it.

One other thing that only SLOOH does is to allow you to watch the scopes in real time live feeds of all the scopes. You can watch the image as it develops, can see if there are clouds or satellites. I often just watch the live feeds. also they have the solar live feed!
