My Messier project

I'm working on my Messier project so I decided to gather them here for the group. I know I've bagged many more than what I've got here in the gallery so far but I'm struggling to find all of my past images. I'll be adding them here as I find or re-image them. Here's the first 41 I've got so far.

If you click on the "info" link on the left column you will get all of the pertinent image details such as who, what, where, when, how long, scope, location, etc..

Thanks guys. I seem to be missing a couple of external hard drives. If I ever locate them, I'll be able to easily add another 30 or so.

I'm having fun last night and tonight just re-shooting placeholders for many that I know I never had in the past like those various open clusters and M40 that we hardly ever bother imaging.

Thanks Babo. I'm still not 100% happy with that shot. The star colors are off and will require some reprocessing. Unfortunately, I can't find my original raw data. I seem to be missing a couple of external hard drives that have all of my old data. Oh well, just an excuse to re-shoot everything! I've added more images to the gallery taken over the last couple of nights, including a rather poor M74 & M77 that was very low on the horizon and in the Las Vegas light pollution bubble. All of these "placeholder" shots will eventually be replaced with images containing more time and color. Especially the open clusters that are rather boring in B&W.

Between the weather and dealing with family issues, last night was my first opportunity to get out in the past month.
I managed to capture these three globulars and one open cluster from the Redstone Trailhead in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. SQL Reading 45 minutes after the crescent moon set was 21.16. Temp was 86°f (30°c) at the reading time but dropped to 72°f (22.2°c) by 3:30am local time when I wrapped up the session.
This brings my TSS Messier Project count to 80!

I had to crop M107 pretty heavily because of this strange reflection that occurs occasionally in my images. It appears in all filters.

Nice. Bye bye Galaxy season and hello Glob season. There are a bunch of M Globs that sit low to the south for me. Too low to shoot from the death star trench so I'll be planning a trip out to the desert in July.

Still plenty of good galaxies out there but with 650mm FL, not within my reach.

That's a fine set of Clusters Greg. And a great presentation at your alnitakproductions site.

Do you know what's causing the reflection?

80 AP Image count Bling added to your profile!

I took the liberty of moving your post to your "My Messier Project" Thread.
