Thought it was a good time for a family portrait. Don't tell the short one he's
adapted.

My newest refractor, the
SV Bony SV501P 70/400! It was really pricey! The whole kit included a backpack, tripod, finder scope,
EP and a 45-degree diagonal. The backpack and tripod will be put to use.
Actually, it's pretty solid, only had to remove the focuser and tighten down the nuts for the vixen dovetail. It's the same focal distance as my Orion ST80 but at a third of the weight. Dew will be a bigger issue because it's all plastic. Hoping to have its first light tonight before dedicating it to guide scope duty for the C8.
Should be interesting.
And fulfilling its role for why it was added to my collection.
Clear Skies,
Chris

Looks as though you have a "scope room" like I do.

Actually, it's my office off the back of my house, it's become my observatory control. I also have a door out into the backyard in it. Behind which you don't see is my desk where I work. Before that it was a lot of things but it's first function was that of a sunroom, the window you saw my
cat at in the first capture faces west and there's four of them, just like on the back wall. It can get both hot and cold! My backwall is my bench area which you get a small glimpse of in the C8, behind me is the Z73.
So, I thought I would get a capture of the full back wall. Multiple refractors and one loan
SCT...
One that shows all the equipment, ready fora grab and go My 80ED is boxed currently awaiting its mount since the C8 took it or as a grab and go, which he Z73 is currently sitting on. I've gone once so far, getting ready to plan the next trip soon I believe. My refractors far outnumber any other in my growing collection and will most likely only continue to do so. I want one more in the focal range of around 1000, with another mount and I'm not out of space yet, especially with the mounts I'm looking at.
Clear Skies,
Chris

Not a new scope, but, new accessory that might make the FOA-60 a new scope?
:
:
:
The
f/8.8
OTA becomes
f/15
:
:
Then, adding the Extender Q 1.6x makes it
f/24

Here is my Meade 102 ED Triplet on EQ6 setup. I also use the mount with various Newts however this is favourite at the moment.

Finally the monster as arrived.
my ts optic 125 mm is much bigger than I thought.
I put it on my cg-4 for now, but it will definitely have to be on my eqr-6 belts drive.
first impression, other than the fact that it is very big.
the construction is very refined and robust.
the focuser is very easy to handle and incredibly smooth.
I look at the moon at a magnification of 54x, very well without the slightest ca.
Obviously the clouds showed up.
Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.
just have to wait for the famous eqr-6.

Congrats on the new glass Jean-Yves! I am sure you will love it performance. The size is definitely something to get used to. I would recommend to get a pier extension for your future eqr-6.

THANKS .
I'm thinking about the extension but I was wondering if it could affect the vibrations?

Not in my experience. My extension is made of steel tube and makes mount more stable.
