This was a fading display which was probably more impressive if I had spotted it 30 minutes beforehand. Still it is not too bad. The brighter star is Capella, and the fainter one is Menkalinan. Just above it is the deep red star Pi Aurigae. It was taken at 11:39pm local time and with a 30 second exposure. Capella is always above the horizon from my location, and in summer is a sparkling feature low down in the northern sky - always in a light sky.

I'm thinking of a project which will constantly monitor that part of the sky in summer. I'm sure I miss a lot of displays.
