Here is an update on our sweet banana pepper plants on our patio. We have already given away 47 to neighbors in addition to using as many as we can ourselves. My wife has figured out how to make stuffed peppers with these, plus we use them in salads and omelettes, and have found an interesting recipe for pickled peppers. They still keep coming and although I take great care of them, no one is more surprised than me at their being so prolific in such a small patio planter.

Your neighbours must love you Marshall

An excellent crop there. You obviously give them enough TLC to make them thrive.

More monsoon clouds. We even got a bit of rain yesterday (highly unusual for summer).

That’s an absolutely beautiful photo Bigz!

Sorry about your weather. I really can’t remember a day recently that it hasn’t rained. Worse summer that I can remember.

I surely have seen some beautiful clouds!

Thanks Jim! I don't mind clouds on a workday. :) They did put quite a show yesterday with colors and shapes changing every minute. We even saw a rainbow.

Sorry to hear about your rainy summer. I hope you get a break soon. On a positive side you don't need to water your garden. :) We are racking quite a water bill this summer.

Hi Andrey. A great set of the monsoon clouds images. Someday I would like to visit the American Southwest again as I haven't been there since I was 8 years old. Yet, to this day I still remember much of how beautiful it was to enjoy, so thanks for putting these captures up on here Andrey.

Thanks Marshall! The monsoon moisture is slicking around so there will be more pics for sure. :D

These are from the first full day in Washington DC - just a very small selection. I suspect I will be doing one day per post :)

This is Smithsonian Castle

I would prefer not have clouds at night... but we are having the best sunsets ever! This might have been the grandaddy of all! The shots lined up in time order as the sunset progressed, and I did not do any color or contrast enhancements, just reduced the size of raw files.

Just saw this little lady behind our vege beds. We now have one less (feral) spotted dove to worry about!

Unfortunately I couldn't get a clear shot as she was very wary.

She is a collared sparrowhawk, and I have never seen one in our suburban area before:

Not great photo's, but amusing...

My wife (teacher) and daughter Sarah (student) are off for the summer, and the ol' man goes to work every day.

However, Sarah most days sends me my daily SPOD while I'm at work. An SPOD is the Sasha picture of the day; kinda like an APOD but in a feline way. Actually, she is probably the size of some objects in the asteroid/kuiper belt....

Sarah said she heard the cat scratching outside, and went out with her phone. We had fun trying to figure the why's and wherefore's, and the best we could do was this:

"OK, so you want me hold the wall up with my paw here?"

Sasha01.jpg

"And this is gonna go on for how long...???"

Sasha02.jpg

After that she supposedly curled up on the iron table and went to sleep. Lucky her. Maybe tomorrow the feline can dig a ditch...
