This is a predominance of Azurite and Malachite. Blue azurite, green Malachite The translucent image is a different side of the monolith. I have long been tempted to cut the monolith for jewelry, but I have concluded the monolith is more beautiful than any sum of its dissected parts could ever be. So it keeps me company on my reading table.

I agree that this stone is like a miniature art exhibit.
I will photograph all six sides for a mini exhibition.

This is an image of Bald Cypress Knees.
I planted the Cypress trees 50 years ago around a small pond on our farm.

A lot has happened since then.

This image is a bit of a Rorschach test.
I see the aftermath of a battle. :-)

Beautiful image Mark!

The Bald Cypress is a majestic and very tough tree.
I planted one about 25 -30 years ago. In a hurricane about 15 years ago, the tree top was smacking the ground. Eventually, the tree completely straightened itself.
Looks amazing just before it drops its needles in the fall/winter.

A bit more detail Jim.
I have planted hundreds if trees in my brief life. My father was a nut about trees. Some of the pines we planted in the early sixties are over 100 feet tall. When I visit that place it is somewhat if a spiritual journey.

The cypress were planted in about 1968. They will outlive me. I think my father had this in mind in all the trees he had a hand in planting.

I remember as a kid that after we set the little tree I would wiggle the stem to make sure it was solidly in the ground. It irritated my father.

It was his way, at the time, of living beyond his body. I know, it sounds goofy, but he was a man one does not meet every day. He became truly eternal in 1987. Most of the trees remain.

The visit to these Cypress was an excursion with my 93 yr old mother yesterday. She didn't know where we were untill I explained to her.

The Cypress trees are 75 feet tall. These knees are their children. I felt like a grandfather to them. I dwelt there a long time while my mother waited in the car. There are many fields of these knees. I tend to see things in them.

Well...it rained all night!
It could have been a lot of snow.
It was a hard rain and the wind rattled the gutters here.
Two days ago it was partly clear so I did a road trip through the flatlands here.

Everything seems to converge.
