I agree, they look like gazanias, a "pest" species (at least here in Oz) from South Africa. They can grow nearly anywhere and take over...

Gazanias they are, apparently. They are used as common area groundcover in some neighborhoods. My small patch of five flowers, growing in an otherwise grassy yard has survived the mower for about a year, now.

Re: The Great Photography Thread - REVIVED!
Hi all. Well, we had a few nice days recently but starting today it is all going downhill. Temperatures from 39 to upper 40's this weekend and rain. Here is a photo of a rainbar I caught early this morning just after sunrise. I call it a rainbar instead of a rainbow because it is just a straight line:
Marshall
Sky-Watcher 90mm f/13.8 Maksutov-Cassegrain on motorized Multimount
Orion Astroview 120ST f/5 Refractor on EQ3 mount
Celestron Comet Catcher 140mm f/3.64 Schmidt-Newtonian on alt-az mount

Re: The Great Photography Thread - REVIVED!
Astrophotographer Thierry Ligault started it. He posted a picture on Facebook of Licancancabur, an iconic volcanic cone in the Atacama desert in Chile, with a tongue in cheek comment for his friends. Soon, everybody else started pasting their pictures of Licanbur on his timeline.
Ironically, all of us visited either the week before or the week after the July 2, 2019 total eclipse yet none of us crossed paths.
This is my effort:
