Is it possible to upload a file (.zip.pdf etc.)?

I do not know about zip files but we can definitely post PDF files
Click on full editor, in bottom left corner there is a tab that says attachments.
Click on that and the add files button should appear. Post file, then click on the place inline button and it should be posted.

Shoulda known. "lower-left is the area of my vision most adversely affected by my stroke.
I need to work on that.

zip files seem to attach just like any other file type using the attachments tab down lower left of screen.

FLASH FILES
swf
DOWNLOADABLE FILES
mp3, mpeg, mpg, ogg, ogm

Just to cover the bases.
Make sure to click on the "Full editor" button just below the 'Quick Reply" box. That will display the attach files area just below the full editor box.
