I used to reference this signature from a URL on my site but it is not loading for some reason - I just noticed it and it seems like the img tag isn't working. Is this a feature or a bug?

Also I have the same image uploaded to my gallery and when I reference it like so, it shows up in a much smaller size:



Anyone know why?

It looks fine to me.

Your image isn't showing for me at the bottom of your hardware .

It is showing as it normally does for me.

It's showing okay for me too.

Maybe your web host was having a technical issue at the time, or they were doing some background maintenance.

Either way, it looks like you're back again

I'll check my settings in Chrome, other than that I have no idea. My sigfile is a link to an image on one of my domains, so it should work for you too...

I had another cup of coffee and remembered that your sig file used to be fine in Chrome, and just today it isn't. I took a look with the edit feature at your original post and see that you're doing exactly what I do.
Mine works in Chrome, and yours doesn't?? That's a head-scratcher for sure. I would say your file isn't on your domain anymore, but it shows up in MS Edge just fine so it's obviously not that. Now this is gonna bug me...

The plot thickens OK, I made a mistake; I thought my sigfile was a link to an image on one of my domains. It isn't; it's in my image gallery.

I think it has to be something with Chrome, at least for me. If I figure it out I'll let you know, but don't hold hope....

Well, I installed Firefox and this is what I get when I edit my sig file:
And Ram, your images show up as well, just like with MS Edge.

I really believe it's a Chrome thing, though I still have no idea why. Any ideas from others?

I checked in on a Win10 PC with the latest version of Google Chrome and it's working fine.

I am seeing it as as yobbo89 and thefatkitty in Chrome but I'm using Mac OS X. The image itself is on a Free BSD system. I am seeing it fine on Mac OS X using Safari. That's interesting experiment you did thefatkitty, so it looks like any kind of links to an external site via Chrome don't work. And I can also say that the server never sees these requests.

On the server end (ram.org, where the image is hosted), in the logs I can see the signature.jpg being downloaded whenever you all see it, and also just now when I saw it on Safari, I saw the signature being downloaded. However, whenever I load the page on Chrome, I don't see it being downloaded off my server. It is not accessed at all. I cleared the Chrome cache for files and I still had this problem. I even gave it a brand new name, and again I can see it working on both ends with Safari but not with Chrome.

I think it could be a caching issue but it's not a Chrome caching issue (or at least not as simple as clearing the browser cache). It's some combination of the code for TSS and how the [img] tag is implemented vs. how it interacts with calls using Chrome+Mac OS X and the cache since the server isn't seeing the call from the backend in one case but not the other.

In general, all the images TheSkySearchers are loading VERY slowly for me on both Chrome and Safari (and I have a 100mbps download). Normally this wasn't case but this started about a week or so ago.

But as long as most people seeing it, I am fine - I don't need to see it myself. But it is a weird bug!

It looks like I'm using the latest version of Chrome: Version 85.0.4183.121 (Official Build) (64-bit).
