Mini Tripod for my Starblast 6i
I threw together a mini tripod for my starblast 6i. This put the tabletop scope to the correct viewing height and it works great! Just thought I'd share it. I built the tripod based off of plans called "Super Simpe Tripod 2x4" which appeared in the February 2013 issue of Sky And Telescope. I just adjusted it for the bigger Starblast 6i and shortened it up for viewing while seated. I took it to my first ever starparty/dark site visit. I had a great time and saw M31 in it's full glory for the first time!

Thanks!
Yeah, it was pretty nice. We still had some sky glow from a major metro area 2 hours away but the Milky Way was stellar! It was a great night of viewing even for a noob like myself.

Hi Big_Eight. That's a very nice observing table with eyepiece and accessories table that you built. Well done Big_Eight. Here in Florida, we have some wall to wall rain forecasts yet again this evening.

Re: Mini Tripod for my Starblast 6i
Thanks, I appreciate it! This little stand serves its purpose very well. I think it makes the scope even more portable and comfortable for viewing.
I was initially putting the scope on an small metal table that was a bit higher in my back yard. Besides having to stand and view everytime I moved the scope for tracking or focused the scope would shake. The stand has made everything very stable and much easier to use and enjoy.
Hopefully things will clear up soon in Florida for you so you can get out and see our beautiful universe!

Updating the link to the project tutorial the tripod in the original post is based off of since it appears the original link is broken. Here is a New Working Link takes the place of the one in the original post.
