What is Wynne corrector?

#1

Post by turboscrew »

I found out that there is a Wynne corrector available for my tube. What is Wynne corrector? Kind of coma corrector, I understood, but how it is different from, say, ES HR? Pros? Cons?
Hmm, I think Wynne is used for AP?

I just seems like you are using a telescope to correct your telescope and the price is a bit much.

A regular coma corrector would work just fine I imagine and with a much better price.

I'm not even thinking of getting one. Just curious about what it is.

And I thought the Tele Vue Paracorr II was expensive! But I think it would be overkill for your scope because its seems to be intended for F2.5 - F3.5 scopes and your scope is a F4. My Dobson is a F4.5 and I was use to the view of a Meade ACF, that has very little comma and flat focus to the edge with a wide angle eyepiece like the 27mm Panoptic and were a bit disappointed with the wide views of the F4.5 dobson. The Paracorr does not eliminate comma but does make the focus sweet spot a BIG spot!
Main Equipment : Tele Vue 27mm Panoptic, 7&13mm Nagler, Big Barlow : 8" Meade LX90ACF with Meade 2.0" Enhanced Diagonal : Camera Fuji XT100

Funny, yesterday I went through about 10 pages of google hits, and didn't find this, that was now on the page 5 of google hits.
https://books.google.fi/books?id=oRQJmb ... or&f=false

It seems to be basically primary focus coma corrector.

Found another explanation:

Their TI 55 (550 mm aperture) astrographs seem to use their 6.5" Wynne.
