I think I'm about to "enjoy" the snow brought here by what's left of Eunice. Around the next weekend I seem to get to enjoy the same by Franklin. It looks like there are storm after storm in Britain, and a couple of days after each storm, Juha has new job for the sleigh-shovel.

On the other hand, I'll get to know how bad the storm has been by just checking the amount of new snow.

From highs in the 20s last week to around 60 for the next three days.
I just got done trimming the liriope since the warm spell might cause it to start growing prematurely.
Being only Feb 21, we are nearly certain to have a succession of hard freezes over the next few weeks.
With repeated cold snaps damaging the the buds, some species will never flower this year.

What a surprise! Besides the snow, you sent some winds too (8 m/s, 14 m/s in gusts).

Mid to upper 60s today! Already very humid at 10 am.
Fingers crossed that it stops raining before the temperature drops.

We have actually had a smattering of sleet and hailstone throughout the day, in between some sunny intervals

However, they have not been heavy enough, or sustained downfall for too long, for it to lay on the ground. They have soon melted.

Temperature is not too bad though, 7℃ (44.6℉).

Winter Weather Advisory posted for later this afternoon and overnight. I think I'll leave the office a little early so I can beat any rush hour traffic snarls. The last time I got caught in snow at work, my typical 1-hour drive took 3 hours. :x

It's time you had a little of a break too, from those roaring storms.

Was that, because the weather was that bad, or were there too many drivers that didn't dare but crawl forward, because they saw a snow flake? At least here, the latter are the bigger problem.

The roads were a real mess that day The plows couldn't get through because there were too many cars during rush hour.

Anyway, just got home and it's starting to come down now.

Why is it, that you can't find good weather forecasts here. A Norwegian site seems to be close, but only a few hours earlier.
Yesterday I looked at the Finnish forecast, Foreca, and it looked that tonight would be mostly clear starting from about 4 PM. It still shows that, but when I look out of the window, I see full cloud coverage. This morning a couple of other forecasters agreed with Foreca, but now they have changed their forecasts to fully cloudy.

What is it here that make an hour a "long term forecast"?

I'm just getting frustrated of false hope.

I feel your pain there Juha :sigh:

I use the BBC Weather page (forecasts provided by the Meteo Group) and generally find them to be fairly accurate.

I not only check it regularly for night sky conditions, but also for during the day for when Sophia and I plan our walks in the Forest.

Quite often though, I have seen the reported conditions to be changing by the hour. It will say a possibility of rain for one particular hour and turn out to be sunny, or vice versa.

Our best method is to look out of the window and make our decision what to do then
