Here now (23:48) -18°C (3 m/s wind) and only about 5 - 10 cm of snow.

On 23-24 Dec the ground wind was 15 m/s gusting to 22 m/s, winds at 1000 m ASL were at 50 m/s to 56 m/s.
We also received another 30 cm of snow during that.

Here it's hard to grow Ginkgo Biloba (maidenhair tree), because even if it can take about -35°C (-31°F), here it's too light when the frosts come. That's why they tend to freeze to death. Due to the light, they don't realize that the winter is coming,
and their roots freeze.

That spells: It's always a bit cold here if it gets dark. Or, star gazing is masochists' hobby.
