Re: Weather
There is a slight chance (20 percent) for clouds to scatter out Thursday afternoon, but it looks like it would be a brief time period.
Man... That's some icky-tasting stuff!

Astrophotography blowout sale...coming soon, and I haven't even imaged anything yet.
But seriously...happy new year, come on summer.

Re: Weather
The weather warning for today: In the Poprad district, wind is expected in SOME PLACES on the mountains, above the forest belt,
which reaches a short-term (in impacts) speed of 30 - 37 m/s (110 - 135 km/h)
and/or an average speed of 20 - 24 m/s (70 - 85 km/h), i.e. up to a gale.
On the ground the wind is only supposed to be 7 m/s.
I will not be surprised if sometime today there is a call that a tourist has decided to go climbing and they want us to come save them...

Re: Weather
If you go back to the climate scientist warnings from the 1980’s, weather extremes are exactly what was predicted. Everyone was too busy trying to convince themselves that it was a hoax. North America and Europe could go into deep freeze due to the disruption of the AMOC. The warm water current that pumps heat from the equatorial warm waters of the Caribbean to the North Atlantic Ocean.Kilohertz wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 5:04 am Global warming? Ya right, where? A climate scientist was a consultant to the movie, “the day after tomorrow “
That scenario is realistic although the film makers sped up the rate. It would be a long slow freeze. Disruption of the AMOC is already occurring.

Re: Weather
Thats not 15F.... the 15 is current windspeed. The 4 on the right is the temp and the number above the 15 is the windchill. But you can still claim the win because you are definitely colder. Down here Canada in English translates to place that is damn cold.
